BostonCIO’s Big Block Project Management™ (BBPM) is a toolset for engaging and empowering groups of users to actively commit to and participate in running their own projects. While typically deployed for information technology-centric-, time-bound projects, the methodology and tools can be applied across a broad range of simple-to-complex projects.
By demystifying the project plan, BBPM allows us to engage the people delivering the tasks in actively planning and managing the project. The process typically begins with a hands-on planning workshop in which users define each of the big blocks for each work stream in a project and then organize them along achievable timelines. Once the project team agrees on all of the big blocks and their relationship to each other, the BBPM approach pushes forward with more traditional, detailed task plans to support on-time deliverables and activity tracking.
